Jimmy Ardis
Jimmy Ardis is a staff writer for State Budget Solutions. He joined the team in March 2012 and is currently covering the intersection of corrections policy and state budgets.
Jimmy comes to us from the Lucy Burns Institute where he worked as a staff writer on the sites Ballotpedia and Judgepedia. In addition to writing for State Budget Solutions he is a founding partner of a research and consulting firm based in Charleston, SC. He previously worked as a research associate at The Riley Center for Urban Affairs and Policy Analysis at the College of Charleston. Jimmy started his career in the United States Air Force, working in the aviation and emergency management fields.
Jimmy studied Business as an undergraduate at UMUC while living in Turkey. He went on to earn a Masters of Public Administration at the College of Charleston in South Carolina.
Originally from South Carolina, he circled the globe for seven years before returning to his current home in Charleston, where he lives with his wife Alisha and their daughter, Celia.
