"State Budget Solutions applauds Governor Haslam's state budget proposal as well as his nonpartisan leadership in tackling the budget in a way lost on many Governors. Gov. Haslam has found a reasonable, rational and responsible budgeting approach that will serve as a beacon to other states facing massive deficits.

His dedication to fiscal responsibility is a rarity as many states are struggling to emerge out of the red. In fact, according to a State Budget Solutions' report released in October, our nation's total state debt presently exceeds $4 trillion.

Tennessee is an example of a state creating real budget solutions that are not based on gimmicks and illusions. State Budget Solutions urges other states to follow in Tennessee lead and begin implementing budget solutions that are based on reality."
